With more than a quarter-century of history, the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) offers
the highest level of professional baseball outside of Major League Baseball. Two-thirds of the players
have MLB experience and last season over 70 players were signed out of the Atlantic League to MLB
rosters. The Atlantic League is independent baseball and Hawks ownership will have complete control
over the roster and manager and coaches.
Since the league's inception in 1998, more than 42 million fans have attended Atlantic League games. In
2016, ALPB became the first independent professional baseball league to sign a working agreement with
Major League Baseball. In 2020, ALPB became the first professional partner league of Major League
Baseball, serving as a testing ground for new rules and ideas like the automated strike zone and pitch
clocks that one day may make their way into MLB stadiums. Our nearest competitor is the Long Island Ducks.
