The FerryHawks dropped the first game of the series to the Gastonia Honey Hunters by a score of 7-1 on Friday night. This contest was close the entire way until the Honey Hunters blew the lid off in the late stages.
The first 7 innings moved at record pace as pitching dominated this game early on. Outside of a Honey Hunters run in the 3
rd inning, there were zeroes across the board through the 7
th. FerryHawks starter
Ryan Hartman (0-3) posted a strong outing with a final line of 7 innings, 5 hits, 1 run, and 4 strikeouts.
Gastonia knocked in 3 runs in the 8
th and 3 runs in the 9
th to secure the 7-1 victory. The lone FerryHawks run came off a
Jack Elliott no-doubter the sailed over the right field wall.
The two teams will face off again tomorrow at 6:30PM as the FerryHawks host their "Kick-Off To Summer Party!" Stick around because after the game the first fireworks show of the season is set to take place!
