STATEN ISLAND, NY – High Point executed another ninth-inning comeback against Staten Island on Saturday, scoring four runs in the final frame to wrestle a 4-1 win from the FerryHawks at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park. The Rockers have won all four games in the season series despite never leading entering the ninth inning. 
 
Dakota Freese slung seven superb innings in his second straight start against the Rockers, allowing just two hits with eight strikeouts during his season-high 112-pitch effort. 
 
After Victor Capellan relieved Freese by twirling a perfect eighth inning, lefty Chris Nunn entered to try and lock down a 1-0 win. Nunn started the inning by getting Ben Aklinski to fly out to right field, before facing Jerry Downs. Downs popped up Nunn's first offer to left field, but Joseph Monge, who had just entered as a defensive replacement for Mariel Bautista, lost the ball and failed to make the catch. The error allowed Downs to second base with one out for Quincy Lattimore. The Rockers left fielder lined a double into left field, tying the game 1-1. After a Logan Morrison walk, Nunn struck out Zander Wiel for the second out of the inning. With two runners on, Michael Martinez worked a full count before launching a payoff pitch to right field for another two-bagger. Lattimore and pinch-runner Johnny Field scored on the double to give the Rockers a 3-1 lead. Christopher Proctor followed by ambushing Nunn's first pitch, hitting a single to left to plate Martinez for a 4-1 advantage. 
 
Nunn (0-2) recorded two outs in the ninth inning – all four runs were unearned. It's the second time the Rockers have handed Nunn a ninth-inning loss. 
 
Adam Choplick worked a 1-2-3 bottom-of-the-ninth to cap an excellent performance from Rockers starter Jheyson Manzueta. 
 
Manzueta (2-1) launched eight innings of one-run baseball, allowing five hits with six strikeouts. He threw 97 pitches and walked just two FerryHawks. His only blemish came on back-to-back doubles by Brandon Wagner and Angel Aguilar in the sixth inning, giving the FerryHawks the game's first lead. 
 
Staten Island (6-24) and High Point meet Sunday at SIUH Community Park for a doubleheader. Game one of the twin bill is scheduled for 1:00 PM with Game two slated for a 4:00 PM first pitch.
